How the Team Started
David and Lauren are born and raised Angelenos who have committed themselves to education and advocacy for almost two decades. After meeting at a community film screening, where it was friendship at first sight(!), NCC emerged from our combined love for student guidance. Sharing a passion for authenticity, empowerment, and growth, we want our students to pursue what genuinely matters to them in service of who they are today and who they are tomorrow.

David M.
David has worked as an educator, mentor, and college counselor for the past 15 years. After graduating from the University of Michigan with specializations in English and Informatics, he discovered just how much he loved championing authenticity while helping students become more confident versions of themselves. When he’s not finding transcendence in a good snack, he gives his life to family, friends, music, and nature.
Lauren G.
Lauren graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Anthropology and a minor in History of Art. In addition to experience as a college counselor, external professional, and academic mentor, Lauren is in the process of receiving a certificate in college counseling at UCLA. Lauren’s career and passion have led her to advocate for others, educate, and find the light that is always present. In her free time, she loves to use her creativity by making art, visiting museums, and caring for her garden.
